Long evening gown Ann Louise Roswald

It’s that time of year when everyone is looking for a dress for a Summer Ball, June is definitely the favourite month for these occasions. Everyone always seems to ask the same questions – should I wear long or short? Is it ok to wear black, or should I go for something more colourful? What will the weather be like, will I be too cold with just a short sleeve dress?

Here’s my answers based on my expereinces this year:

I think long is lovely, and it seems that not many people go to the trouble at the moment, so if you get a chance, go for it! It will depend on the venue, as some are more glamorous than others. It depends on the age group at the function also, if it is predominantly young, you will find more cocktail length or minis, and more long gowns where the age group is slightly older.

You can wear black of course, but I have noticed some very pretty colours around this season, so if you have a choice go for something brighter. You can wear your little black dress any time of year.
